HOWTO – Add an On-screen action button to a grandCARE system

This page will take you through the process of adding an on-screen action button to a grandCARE system.

In this case the details of the action button and its action are:

  •  Button: the button will have a prompt of “Get Help!”
  •  Action Details:
    •  If the button is pressed between 08:00 and 17:00
    • A text message will be sent to a specific care giver


  • A computer with internet connectivity
  • A GC Manage account group / account admin permissions
  • The information for system / account to which you wish to add the on screen button
  • The system you are adding the on screen button to will need to be turned on and accessible
  • Details of the caregiver who will receive the message, they will need an account on GC Manage with Care Giver permissions (at least), check this HOWTO for details of user setup
