Activity
Monitoring

grandCARE works with a range of small wireless sensors which can be triggered as a person moves around the house or even opens a door on a medication cupboard. We also have smart switches which can be used to turn on a lamp or detect when electricity has been used. Within grandCARE we can setup “Rules”, below are examples of how “Rules” work with Sensors and Smart Switches to monitor and keep people safe.

Activity Monitoring Package comes with the grandCARE 15.6” touchscreen monitor and any two sensors within the price.

Multi Room Sensor

If parent goes to the bathroom between 11pm and 7am and has not returned to bed, within 10 minutes an alert would be sent!

RULE:
Using a directional motion sensor by the bedside, we set up a rule within the grandCARE that states if the motion detector is triggered between the hours of 11pm and 7am from when the motion is detected, the system counts down from 10 minutes. If motion is detected within the 10 minutes, it means the individual has got back in to bed. If not, an alert would be sent to the designated person.

Door Sensor

If Father walks the dog in the evening between 8pm and 8:30pm for 20 minutes and has not returned by 9pm, an alert would be sent.

RULE:
Using a door sensor, we set up a rule that states, if the door sensor is triggered the door is opened between the hours of 8pm and 8:30pm, and has not been re-opened within 20 minutes, an alert would be sent by text/email/or phone call to the designated person or persons.

Wandering

If Mother’s daily living routing starts to go out of sync, for example between 11pm and 7am she starts wandering around going downstairs, making drinks at various times throughout the night, opening the fridge or opening the front door.

RULE:
Between 11pm and 7am if excessive movement is detected over a period of three nights, an alert would be sent. This could also be backed up with, if the exterior door is opened between these times any night an alert would be sent to the individual saying “it is 3am Go Back to Bed”. This would also send an alert to the designated family member.

Smart Switch

Father wakes at 3am to go to the bathroom, by triggering the activity sensor this turns on a lamp using smart switch and turns if off again when he returns to bed.

RULE:
Between 11pm and 7am if the activity sensor is triggered, switch on lamp via smart switch. When activity is detected again, switch of lamp.
